How accurate is the location data?

Every point on the map is tied to a specific geocoded source — historical nugget records, GSV geological layers, and mapped goldfield boundaries. Where a historical record is approximate, the app labels it as approximate instead of pretending it is an exact GPS find.

Will you sell or share my data or finds?

No. We don't sell or distribute your location data or finds to third parties. Ever.

Do I have to share my finds?

No — finds sharing is off by default. If you turn it on, your exact location is fuzzed before anything is shown publicly. Nobody gets your precise coordinates from your find pin.

Does the app track me in the background?

No. GPS is only active when you're using it in Field View or Safety Mode. It is not silently logging your movements while the app is idle or closed.

Do I need phone reception to use it?

Not for research. Plan at home, browse the map, read the history, mark your spots, then save or print what you need before heading out — Pro adds GPX export to your Garmin. GPS can work on-site for navigation, but you should always prepare for low-signal areas.

What's the AI actually doing?

It cross-references historical records, geology, past finds, and field clues, then gives you a plain-language research summary. It speeds up research; it does not replace your judgement, safety checks, or legal access checks. When the records don't support an answer, it says so rather than guessing.

What happens when my free trial ends?

You keep the Free plan forever — full map, geology layers, 3 AI questions a day, and Safety Mode. You only lose the Pro extras: the full nugget register, GPX export, and trip reports. No card is taken during the trial, so nothing gets charged automatically.
